At the request of the American Express Company

I have the honor to request that the necessary in- structions be issued in order that the word "Amexco" may be registered as the cable address of their office in Hong Kong. The concern named have employed this code address since many years in the ir establish- ments in various parts of the world, including London, and having quite recently opened an office in Hong Kong appear to have encountered some difficulty in obtaining the necessary registration there.

As the American Express Company have already printed large quantities of stationery upon which "Amexco" appears as their code address at Hong Kong, and as the use of any other word would confuse their correspondents and cause considerable inconvenience, I have no doubt that you will be glad to recommend the registration of the word "Amexco" at Hong Kong- Thanking you in anticipation for your kind
